General Studies Program
Adelphi offers different academic programs that are designed to meet the diverse needs of its students.

The General Studies Program is a one-year, intensive program for freshmen whose high school records and SAT scores do not meet Adelphi's admissions standards but whose potential for academic achievement has been identified by the University through interviews with faculty, administrators, and counselors.

The innovative, credit-bearing freshman year program provides an intensive curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences that is foundation for completing the bachelor’s degree. Students are provided with a full range of academic support services.
