Your acceptance packet contains important information concerning the remaining steps in your admissions process. Please review the information carefully.

Acceptance Packet
Included in your acceptance packet, you will find:

• your acceptance letter
• a reservation/housing agreement form
• budget sheet*
• I-20 Requirements information sheet
• affidavit of support form
• health history and assessment form
• Request for I-20 form
• Transfer I-20 form

*Please note: The student budget sheet for the 2009-2010 academic year will become available within the next month. Forms for the current academic year have been included to give you an idea of the required documents. You will receive updated forms as soon as they are available.

I-20 Requirements
We require the following documentation to issue an I-20 AB form:

• Official Bank Statement: You are required to submit an official bank statement, showing the amount of funds available from the sponsor. The statement must be prepared on official bank letterhead. Funds must be in either a checking or savings account.
• Notarized Affidavit of Support: The affidavit must be witnessed by a legal official or notary. The document must list the exact amount of money that the sponsor has made available for the expenses of the student, stating "entire cost of study" is not acceptable.
• Sponsor Proof of Income Letter - Sponsors must provide a letter from their employer stating how long they have worked and their annual salary. If a sponsor is unable to provide such a letter we will accept a copy of the past years income tax return forms.
• Copy of Passport
• I-20 Request form - was enclosed in your admission packet.
• Transfer I-20 Form - Required of all students currently in the US on a F1 Visa. Was enclosed in your admission packet.

Please wait to prepare your bank statement and affidavit of support until you receive the 2009-2010 international budget sheet. To help you estimate your expenses, the international student budget sheet for 2008-2009 was included in your admission packet. It shows the breakdown of tuition, housing, and other expenses for one year.

International students who do not require a student visa (i.e. pending permanent residents) are not required to submit paperwork necessary for an I-20. If you are applying for residency or are not interested in pursuing a F1 Visa, please contact our office of admission at 1-516-877-3050 or at intlacceptedstudents@adelphi.edu.

Registration
Once you have submitted your deposit and have received your I-20 form, we can begin the registration process. We have arranged for an academic adviser to contact you via email to assist you in selecting your classes. Your adviser will then complete the course registration for you. This will help expedite a smooth transition to the start of your academic studies at Adelphi.
