Conferences and Workshops

These special events are held just for high school students and provide opportunities to learn and compete in specific academic areas.

Art Foundations Program

Spring & Fall - Selected high school students will meet for ten weeks in three-hour studio sessions per week with seniors in the Fall and juniors in the Spring sessions. Curricular emphasis will be on drawing, with major focus on the human figure.

Ceramics Program

Spring & Fall - Selected high school students will meet for ten weeks in three-hour studio sessions per week with seniors in the Fall and juniors in the Spring sessions. Curricular emphasis will be on ceramics and sculpting.

Arts Conference

Fall – Performing arts high school students participate in intensive workshops in dance, music, and theatre where they will learn from our experienced faculty through discussion and practical experience.

Business Conference

Fall – High School students will enjoy a fun, hands-on, interactive learning experience, while engaging their critical business skills through our detailed conference format. Working with Adelphi’s expert business faculty, students will learn essential and relevant marketing components, including how to successfully develop a marketing plan.

Poetry Day

Spring – High School students participate in creative writing workshops, followed by a reading from a keynote poet. Students will also have the opportunity to submit poems for the Poetry Competition which will be presented at the event.

Press Day

Spring – High School students will work together in journalism-related group discussions and listen to a panel of distinguished journalism professionals. Students will also have the opportunity to submit examples of their work for the Quill Awards competition which will be presented at the event.
