Q: Am I eligible for the program?
A: High school juniors and seniors with strong academic records are eligible to participate in the High School Program. In consultation with Adelphi University, the high school makes recommendations about individual student eligibility and participation. Check to see if your high school participates in the program.

---
Q: How does the Program compare to the A.P. (Advanced Placement) Program?
A: The difference between the High School Program and the A.P. Program is that the award of college credit in the High School Program does not depend on a score achieved on a single examination, as is the case in the A.P. Program. Adelphi credit is awarded based on the grade you earn for the work you accomplish during the semester.

---
Q: How do I register?
A: If you want college credit for your work, you must register by the indicated deadlines defined by the University. Both University and state guidelines prevent retroactive credits. Pick up a registration form from your participating high school teacher, or register online.

---
Q: How many courses should I take each semester?
A: The number of courses you take each semester depends partly on how many courses your high school offers and on your own capabilities. Because the work is demanding, we allow students to participate in a maximum of two classes for Adelphi credit per semester.

---
Q: Who are the course instructors for the program?
A: High School Program courses are taught by high school faculty members. After being nominated by school officials and approved by the respective Adelphi departments, instructors work closely with our faculty to prepare course curriculum. All instructors hold adjunct faculty rank at Adelphi.

---
Q: Can I transfer Adelphi University credits to other schools?
A: Although we cannot guarantee transfer credit in advance, most colleges accept Adelphi credits. According to surveys, more than 90 percent of the students who apply for college credit receive it at a variety of post secondary institutions across the country. However, credit transfer practices vary by school. Students may receive elective credits, advanced standing, requirement waivers, or some combination of the above. We highly recommend that students contact colleges that they are interested in attending and ask about transfer credit policies.

---
Q: How do I transfer Adelphi University credits to other schools?
A: To obtain a transcript request form, call the High School Program office at 516.877.3046 or download the form. The cost for our registrar to send a transcript to your college or university is $10.00.

---
Q: What other advantages does the program offer me?
A: Students who enroll for credit have privileges at Adelphi University's Swirbul Library and other campus facilities. High School Program students are also invited to attend special on-campus programs—including films, exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, lectures, conferences, and athletic events.
