In March 2016, the College Board launched a redesigned SAT test. At Adelphi University, we require all applicants for freshman admission and certain transfer applicants to submit either SAT or ACT scores in order to complete an application for admission. These tests are one of many factors we take into consideration when reviewing applicants holistically and we will continue to utilize the highest test scores for academic scholarship consideration. For specific information about new SAT content changes and testing format, visit the College Board website.
Incoming applicants for fall 2017* are encouraged to take the redesigned SAT (1600 scale) but may also submit scores from the previous version of the SAT. Adelphi will super score individual sections respectively within each exam type and will ensure equity in review. A completed SAT score for tests on the 1600 scale will include ”Evidence-Based Reading and Writing” and “Math”. The optional Essay section is not an admission requirement for Adelphi applicants.
With the help of newly released concordance tables from the College Board, we will ensure that neither score is advantaged over the other. To better understand the new SAT scoring, refer to the College Board SAT Score Converter.
Please note that Adelphi University does accept both the SAT and ACT exams. Selection of exams to submit is at the student’s discretion. If you have further questions, please contact the Office of University Admissions at 516.877.3050 or email@example.com.
*Incoming applicants for fall 2018 and beyond will be required to submit the redesigned SAT on the 1600 scale. The previous version of the SAT on the 2400 scale will no longer be accepted at that time.
