International Admissions

Tuition and Financial Aid

We offer both merit-based and need-based scholarships.

Undergraduate Scholarships

All undergraduate applicants are reviewed for a scholarship recommendation once a complete application is submitted. Portfolio reviews and auditions are required for students who are interested in talent awards. Candidates are notified within three weeks of their acceptance letter.

Undergraduate international students are eligible for merit, talent and athletic scholarships. These scholarships range from $6,000 to full tuition for freshman applicants. To qualify for a merit-based award, you must have scored at least a 100 TOEFL or a 1580 combined SAT score.

International transfer applicants are eligibile for scholarships in the range of $4,000–$9,000. To be eligible for full-time transfer scholarships, applicants must have scored at least a 100 TOEFL in addition to superior academic marks.

Graduate Scholarships

Adelphi University offers limited scholarship opportunities to graduate students pursuing graduate degrees in business, social work, education and nursing. Please contact each program directly for more information.

Institutional scholarships may be applied to tuition and, in some cases, University fees. We reserve the right to adjust any financial assistance previously awarded when these awards, in combination with other sources of assistance, exceed the cost of tuition and fees.

Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to qualified graduate students. Assistantships are awarded at the discretion of the department. They may be awarded based on academic merit, and some may take financial need into consideration.

Students receiving such appointments are required to devote a specified number of hours each week during the academic year to assist in teaching, research or other technical services as assigned by their department. In return for services, the student is granted a remission of tuition. In addition, some assistantships offer stipends.

Contact your graduate school program to obtain applications and specific eligibility requirements.

International students can borrow under alternative loan programs. These programs require a co-signer who is a U.S. citizen.
