The Ideal Time to Visit

The best time to visit campus is when classes are in session. Whether in-person or virtual, you’ll have the opportunity to experience campus life and see what it’s like to be a Panther at Adelphi.

Our beautiful campus sits on 75 acres, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Adelphi University require that all events be accessible. To request a reasonable accommodation, please contact infoevents@adelphi.edu; please allow for a reasonable time frame. University Admissions will, when necessary, collaborate with the Student Access Office.

Will you be driving or using transit?

Whether you’re driving or using the New York City public transit, please allow yourself plenty of time for travel. We require that you arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled visit to allow time to park and walk to your group visit location.

What will the weather be like?

Long Island has four seasons with warm, sunny, humid summers and chilly winters. Please dress accordingly and be prepared if inclement weather is predicted, as we still conduct tours in hot, windy, rainy, or snowy weather conditions. We recommend checking weather.com for weather updates and 511ny.org for traffic conditions.

Enjoy our beautiful campus!

Our campus is located in the picturesque village of Garden City, New York, which offers a variety of restaurants, shopping, recreational activities and places to stay. When you’re ready to explore further, just pick a direction: from Long Island’s world-famous beaches on the south shore to our historic Gold Coast in the north, or to the villages and wineries on the east end, we offer something for everyone. And the greatest city in the world–New York City—is right next door.

What steps should I take to ensure access to Adelphi’s Webinar Platform?

If your virtual group visit is going to be held via Adelphi University’s webinar platform, we encourage you to use Google Chrome as your web browser for the event to help eliminate any issues that may occur.

I am utilizing the Zoom Video Conferencing room for the virtual group visit, is there anything I need to do beforehand?

You do not need to download an application, create an account or have video or audio capabilities to participate. Check out Zoom support if you’d like to learn more. We encourage you to use Google Chrome as your web browser for the event to help eliminate any issues they may occur.

As a reminder, we ask that everyone mute their computers and refrain from joining via video for the duration of the event. Additionally, all communication via the Zoom chat should be appropriate and respectful to all parties involved.
